Belgique Café & Restaurant brings a unique gourmet experience from the Belgian cuisine in the heart of Prague. You can come to Belgium for great moules-frites (with traditional Belgian fries) or a variation of Belgian waffles. Even lovers of breakfast and brunch will be delighted by Belgique – you can enjoy breakfasts from 8 am during weekdays. Chef – Václav Maixner
After completing gastronomic education in Moravia, he has been gaining experience in restaurants of the Prague city centre, such as Le Café Colonial or La Finestra in Cuccina. He led his own kitchen for the first time in 2010 at the La Galerie restaurant and ha hasn’t given up on that role ever since.
Václav managed to put together a well-coordinated team of excellent chefs whose work he greatly appreciates. He also values the work of his co-workers: “If it wasn’t for the great and hardworking people in the kitchen and on the set, we couldn’t be successful.”
During his career, Václav established contacts with the best Czech and foreign suppliers with whom he still cooperates. Václav is very fond of the origin of the ingredients used in the restaurant.
We have been working with Vaclav since our beginnings, when we traveled around restaurants in Belgium and northern France to get inspired for opening Belgique Café & Restaurant.
Manager of the restaurant – Richard Mück
After completing his gastronomic education, Richard started his journey first in Moravian Wallachia and then moved to Prague to find out how diverse gastronomy can be. On his way, Richard has tried all the positions possible in the restaurant, which makes him a good manager.
He gained experience for example in restaurants Corleone, Le Cafe Colonial, Hombre del Mundo or La Barca Gutovka, and concluded that nor the concept nor the position are the decisive factor, but determination, decency and honesty is what really matters. Therefore, he surrounds himself with people who profess the same values. Richard was able to put together a reliable team where everyone has his/her own place.

The Chef selects only top-quality and fresh ingredients from certified suppliers for you. Mussels and fish come mainly from English, Danish or Dutch waters. Meat for our steaks and burgers comes from the organic farm “Oldřiška”, where Mr. Chytil cuts only 2 pieces of cattle a month. Eggs for breakfast are then supplied by the the Král family farm from litter breeding. We bake our own bread.
Therefore, the quality and freshness of the ingredients is guaranteed.
